Smithsonian Exhibition Website
Part of a class project for Website Design, we were given the task of creating an exhibitions page with what needed to be included. We were challenged with creating a design that focuses mainly on typography and visual elements instead of photography. Focusing on the dates, I tried to make this the most important piece of information because that is what someone would depend on if they could make it to that specific exhibition or not. The text itself uses hierarchy to stand out in order to draw attention.

Iterations
I tried several different ways to display the information on the page, including the hero, about section and even the exhibition sections. I tried a different way to display the information by treating them as their own pieces of information. Moreover, I tried different ways to display the section headings which ended up in these iterations, to be less sophisticated and didn’t represent Smithsonian very well.

When it comes to sketching my ideas, I made sure to sketch my ideas to layout each of the exhibitions. I eventually landed on a calendar like layout because I felt as though other than the name, the date was important information.
